Adjust Your Attitude
Many saw their daily routine turned upside down by COVID-19. Others are very worried about what the future may hold. At these times, as leaders we must stand tall and show through action and resolve; our commitment and confidence in the future. Keep a positive attitude, the world is your oyster.
You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

The Full Scoop
I had the opportunity yesterday to attend a CEO roundtable meeting. This group meeting was unique in that historically it has always met in person, but this time we met virtually. We felt it was still important to gather together, seek advice, and counsel; to drive towards that never ending goal of continuous improvement. Now more than ever, we must make the time to engage and collaborate with strong and able partners.
As you can imagine, a topic that received plenty of attention was COVID-19. Coronavirus disease 2019 is a disease caused by a syndrome called, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). All of our daily routines have been upended, and we are quickly learning we will need to adapt our daily habits to navigate through the upcoming weeks and months. Everyone is working hard to create flexibility for their employees that ensures their health, while we find new and creative ways to responding to the needs of our customers.
Attitude
One topic that stood out was Attitude. A group member made a wonderful point in stating, “Don’ talk about problems, view them as challenges, that you can and will overcome.” Now is not the time to slow down, become discouraged, or talk constantly about “problems”. While challenges are present, humankind has always encountered and faced them. However, when viewed through the proper lens, these challenges create new opportunities. Especially, for those who are willing to invest the time, effort, and sweat.
Now more than ever is the time to show our employees, customers and vendors that we are willing and able to move through these challenging times. Your resolve as a leader will bring the confidence your team needs to overcome new obstacles, and outshine the competition. The issues will subside and new challenges will replace them. However, if we are willing and able to be open-minded learners, we will overcome these challenges as well.
Stay positive.
